PROTECTING OUR HEART

“Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23) NASB

The heart is the seat of our affections, thoughts and understanding. In order to protect
it, there should be a constant, persistent, and earnest seeking after God through His
word. The heart of man can only take so much; the key to survival is guarding our heart
with the Word. Those who are apart from God and His word are headed on a course to
eternal disaster. The sin of others hurts our hearts and the heart of God! To have that
well spring of life flowing from our hearts, a vigilant keeping in His word is essential!
Give Him your heart for the safest care possible. He will never fail you and always has
your best interest at heart!

PRAYER: Precious Lord, Teach me how to consistently guard my mind and
emotions! Thank you for being so concerned for the condition of my heart and
the instruction on how to protect it! AMEN

Meditation: (Proverbs 4:20b-23, Philippians 4:6-8, Psalm 147:3, Ephesians 6-:16-17)

Busy, Busy, Busy…

This morning on my hike I tried to slow it down a little.   The Lord has been pressing it on my heart for a while now to SLOW down.  So this morning I did; and I noticed things I have never seen before on this hike I have walked hundreds of times before.  And after I came home it made me wonder how many things I am missing from always buying busy.

Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Who feels busy or overwhelmed right now, even as we sit here in this room.
One of Satan’s tactics is to keep us busy.  Busy with everything but our relationship with God.
People, families, friends, phones, tablets, electronics, work all keep us busy take your pick!
Busy, busy, busy.  We are so busy how in the world can we be still and hear Gods voice.
How can we hear Him when He is shouting at our hearts to yield.    When He is waiting for us to stop so He can guide our steps.

Proverb 16:9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

How can we hear God if we are so wrapped up in our busy lives,
Or busy doing what we want to do or what we think we should do.     We need to Stop Drop and Pray.           We need to be still.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I [am] God;

In that stillness we find that we can breathe, and that we can actually think without being distracted.  We can actually feel His presence. We can feel Him knocking at our hearts
And through our stillness we are reassured that God is in control, That God is at work, and that God has a plan.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

We are also comforted and knowing that God has always been there and always will be!

Trying to fit in

271164_10150243627347210_714087209_7192525_7901773_n_large

Do you ever act differently when you are around certain people?
Do you find yourself trying to just fit in?
Do you ever wonder if you are slowly losing yourself trying to be someone else?

I am watching my teenage son Jake struggling with this on a daily basis. My son has always been friendly and outgoing, but recently I have noticed a change. When I tried to inquire what was going on I got the “nothing mom.”

But I know whats going on he has reached the point in his life that he has to make a choice. Is he going to be the person who God intended him to be, or is he going to start wearing masks to try and fit in.

I fell into this same problem at one time in my life. I chose the mask for many years just trying to please everyone around me. But, what eventually ended up happening is that I lost myself and my identity in the process.

Before I knew it I didn’t even know who I was or what I wanted. I was lost, empty and broken, and all those so called friends were no where to be found.

Can anyone relate?
Why do we feel so much pressure to fit in, that we need to put on masks just to be accepted.

The truth is that God did not create us to conform to other peoples standards, but rather to stand firm in the knowledge that God created us each unique, special, and for a purpose.

When we try to be who others want us to be we lose ourselves, but when we let ourselves be who God made us we find our purpose.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.-Ephesians 2:10

God sees us at all times and desires for us to know how much He loves us. That he made us wonderful. That we are accepted by the one who matters the most!

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;”- Psalm 139:14

Dear Lord, help us to let go of all our fears and insecurities and be who you created us to be!-

In Jesus Name Amen

Set your eyes…

When we set our eyes on the things of this world it takes a foothold of us.

Before we know it we are desiring things we never even thought of before;
and we are walking down a path that is not clear.

We wake up with that empty hole in our heart trying to fill it with anything we can, but all of it is temporary. We need to choose to live. To choose Christ and live for Christ.

The only thing that can fill that hole,
get us back on the path to life,
and give us hope is Jesus.

He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life!

“Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:2-3

Keep going! Don’t get discouraged! Cling to Christ, He will strengthen you.

Jesus loves you!

The Lord is my strength!

Today when you look into the mirror know that God made you.

God chose you!
God is always there!
God loves you!

He will never leave you or forsake you!

Satan wants to rob your joy and make you believe that you are worthless and that nobody cares.

Behind every temptation is a deception that will ultimately lead you into bondage and death.

” The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.”
Psalm 28:7

New Year, New You…

So the New Year is just around the corner and everyone is talking about their resolutions to lose weight or look better.

But, I have a challenge for you and me!
Why don’t you think about a New Years resolution that has nothing to do with your looks or your body.

How about a resolution that impacts and help others.
Like helping out a friend, or offering to organize someones closet that isn’t the greatest in that area.

God has given each and everyone of you different gifts, gifts that can be used to help others and to Glorify God.

Today ask the Lord to show you your gifts and how you can use them.

It is amazing when we take our eyes off ourselves are own problems seem smaller and we use are time and energy for things that will last forever.

If you want post your resolution below, it would be fun to read!! ♥♥♥ and Prayers always!!!!

Believe…

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:17-19

We can experience broken hearts because of many reasons. Some can be abandonment, rejection, oppression, abuse, or death of a loved one.
When we are left with a broken heart we usually feel devastated and that our life has been shattered.

Other emotions we usually have are fear, loneliness, and despair. Or we can lose the will to go on, to trust, or to love.
But, Jesus our Savior came to save us and heal us.
He talked about “healing the brokenhearted”

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted” Luke 4:18

You can find healing today from your broken heart if you choose to believe again! To believe that you can experience life again! To believe that God has a future for you! To believe that in Christ you can be FREE!!!

“I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the LORD
In the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the LORD!”-Psalm 27:13-14

By His hands…

Waterfall Desktop Background

If we were meant to look “perfect” our Father would have made us that way,
but we were not. He made us in His own image!
I think that is pretty amazing in itself.
So the next time you feel the pressure to change the way you look,
or that you would be happier if you were 5 pounds thinner,
just for try and remember that you were made by the same hands that created the heavens and the earth,
the same hands the created waterfalls and sunsets,
the same hands that made the ocean,
these same hands made you and He made you.

And when we try to change the way we look or we complain about our nose or thighs we are arguing with our Father the creator.

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 139:14(b)

Do you ever feel…

Do you ever feel sometimes like your completely full, yet totallly empty.

Next time you are feeling this way open up the Word of God.

I’m weary.
“I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10b

I feel alone.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b

I can’t take much more.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28b

Our soul need His Word to fill us; if we try to fill it with anything eles we will end up empty.

Praying today that your soul is filled with His Word and that during this busy Christmas season we would remember to keeop hitting our knees and filling up on His Word! ♥♥♥
